The first part of the special drama "Kyojo," starring Takuya Kimura, will be broadcast on January 17th in the "Saturday Premium" time slot (Saturday 9pm). Set in a classroom at the police academy where students aspiring to become police officers attend, the drama depicts the charismatic instructor, Kazama Kimichika (Kimura), who has white hair and a prosthetic right eye, as he weeds out students who are not suited to becoming police officers. The drama is based on the best-selling police mystery novel series of the same name by Nagaoka Hiroki (Shogakukan), and is the first in a series of films.
A police academy classroom is known as the "classroom." In the classroom of the 198th short-term course of the initial training course, which is taught by the unparalleled cold-hearted instructor Kazama, students are subjected to intense training every day. Above all else, they strictly adhere to the rules. Their behavior is under constant surveillance, and everyone is held collectively responsible for any mistakes. Kazama believes that "police academy is a place to weed out people who are not suited," and as soon as a student gets into trouble, he hands them a withdrawal form.
Kazama always suddenly gives the students incomprehensible orders and then leaves the scene. In order to survive the survival game called "classroom" where they are sifted one after another, the students' secrets and intentions swirl, and various incidents occur.
There are 30 classmates in the "Kazama classroom." How many students will survive to the end and receive their diplomas? What is Kazama's true intention in giving his students mysterious and absurd challenges? And will Kazama be able to uncover the complex web of truth behind the incidents his students cause?
The students of the "198th Class" are played by Asuka Kudo, Haruna Kawaguchi, Kento Hayashi, Wakana Aoi, Kai Inowaki, Daigo Nishihata of the popular group "Naniwa Danshi", Miu Tomita, Ryosuke Mikata, Ryodai Murai, Yuko Oshima, and Shohei Miura.
