It has been announced that the rock band "My Hair is Bad" will be performing the theme song for the TV Getsuku drama series "Detective-san, Your Backpack is Open" (Fridays at 11:15 PM, excluding some regions), which will begin airing on January 9th. The theme song is their new song "Koko ni Kurushiteru yo." This will be the first time the band has written a song for a terrestrial TV drama.
The drama stars Ryuhei Matsuda, who has been involved from the planning stage, and is a heartwarming mystery created in collaboration with screenwriter and director Shuichi Okita. Set in the small rural town of Nishigaya Onsen, the story follows detective and inventor Yosuke Ichinose (played by Matsuda) as he solves a succession of strange requests in a relaxed and unconventional way, making for a heartwarming story filled with laughter and tears.
Tomohito Shiiki, the vocalist and guitarist for "My Hair is Bad," said, "The last line of this song is, 'Please stay healthy and live at your own pace.' I ended the song with these words with the hope that people will not give up, but will be able to relax and live at their own pace, as if they have given up. I am grateful for the opportunity to write 'I Live Here,' and I am honored to have been entrusted with the theme song."
Director Okita commented, "It's fun to be with everyone. The song is filled with the fundamental carefreeness and brightness of this drama, and just listening to it makes me feel very cheerful. Of course, it fits the world of the drama, but even without that, it's a song that you'll want to hum along to forever."
Matsuda said, "It was a song that perfectly matched the atmosphere of this drama. It will leave a lingering impression, with the friends gathering together one by one, and at the end, everyone will want to sing together with their arms around each other's shoulders. Please enjoy it along with the drama."
