Akari Takaishi stars in the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake" (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others). The 66th episode aired on January 5th and the drama entered its 14th week, "Is It Okay to Be a Family?", depicting Takaishi's character Toki and Tommy Bastow's character Heaven exchanging wedding vows. Takaishi revealed, "When I received the script for the 14th week, I was shocked and thought, 'They're getting married already?!' I remember asking Tommy, 'Listen! We're getting married in 14 weeks! How should we make it happen?' (laughs)."
On the other hand, Takaishi said, "When I actually acted, I realized that the human heart doesn't move slowly, but can also move suddenly. It's a script that really depicts 'human beings.'" He also expressed his gratitude, saying, "The scene where they vow to marry was filmed in a very sacred place inside Izumo Taisha Shrine. I was happy to be able to go to a place that isn't usually available for filming, and I was very grateful to be able to film the important scene between Heaven and Toki there."
The two of them finally begin their married life.
Takaishi said, "I was drawn to and fell in love with the relationship between Yakumo and Koizumi Setsu, the models for Toki and Heaven, and I've been looking forward to the time when we would be able to play a married couple. I think Setsu is a cool woman who supported Yakumo's unconventional side and continued to protect him. In the same way, Toki also has a desire to protect Heaven, so I hope that we can gradually become closer to the ideal couple."
On the other hand, he warned, "Toki and Heaven will face big obstacles that will test their feelings for each other," and added, "But their unwavering feelings of support for each other brought up a variety of emotions both while reading the script and while acting, and it really touched my heart. "Bakebake" is the 113th morning Asadora. Based on the life of Yakumo Koizumi(Lafcadio Hearn) and his wife Setsu, the story follows the life of a married couple, with the heroine, who loves ghost stories, as she goes about her everyday life with her foreign husband.
