The animated film "AKIRA," based on the manga by Katsuhiro Otomo, will be broadcast on NHK Educational TV from 10:00 PM on January 3rd.
"AKIRA" is a manga that was serialized in "Weekly Young Magazine" (Kodansha) from 1982 to 1990.
The animated feature film was directed by the original author, Otomo, himself and released in 1988. With its stunning visual beauty, it is a masterpiece known as a milestone in the history of animation.
