It has been announced that the second season of the new TV anime series based on the popular manga "Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube," serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), will begin airing on TV Asahi's anime slot "IMAnimation W" on January 7, 2026. A key visual has been released depicting a young Nube and his former homeroom teacher, Minako, about to hold hands. Behind him, the strongest demon, Baki, is depicted about to attack. The second season will reportedly reveal the secret of the Demon Hand and Nube's past.
The cast for young Nube Sensei will be announced at a stage event for the series at Jump Festa 2026, which will be held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama-ku, Chiba City) on December 21st.
The theme song artists for the second season have also been announced, with the band "THE ORAL CIGARETTES" performing the opening theme "ERASE" and artist Ayumu Imazu performing the ending theme "MAGICAL."
Takuya Yamanaka of THE ORAL CIGARETTES commented, "I am truly honored to have been able to create the theme song for ' Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube,' which I have been watching since I was a child. The worldview of ' Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube' has a lot in common with Oral's worldview, so I was able to approach the song straightforwardly. Just as Nube saves his students from the darkness, I believe that music exists to help us escape the darkness that we cannot escape on our own. I put these feelings into the song, so I hope you enjoy it along with the show!"
Ayumu Imazu said, "I am truly honored to have been able to write the ending theme! As a popular work from the Heisei era is being re-released in the Reiwa era, I have created a song called 'MAGICAL' that has a nostalgic and familiar feel like city pop!"
This will be the first new anime adaptation of "Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube" in about 26 years, since the OVA "Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube: The Greatest Fierce Battle in History! The Demon Attacks!!" released in 1999. Ryotaro Okiayu , who played the main character Nube in the TV anime, theatrical anime, and OVA that aired from 1996 to 1997, will reprise his role. The first season aired from July to September.
" Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube" is a manga written by Sho Makura and illustrated by Tsuyoshi Okano, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1993 to 1999. The story follows Meisuke Nueno(Nube), a young teacher assigned to Domori Elementary School, who solves a series of incidents with the power of the "demon hand" harbored in his left arm. A sequel, "Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube NEO," was serialized in Grand Jump (published by the same publisher) from 2014 to 2018, and "Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube S" was serialized in Saikyo Jump (published by the same publisher) from 2018 to 2021. In 2025, a seven-episode short series, "Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube PLUS," was published in Shonen Jump+ (published by the same publisher). "Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube Kai" is currently being serialized in Saikyo Jump. The series has sold a total of approximately 29 million copies.
