It has been announced that the first episode of the special effects drama "Kaiketsu Zubat," originally aired in 1977 and based on the original work by Shotaro Ishinomori, will be broadcast on TOKYO MX from 7 PM on December 14th. To commemorate the release of the series' Blu-ray Disc (BD) box set, "Kaiketsu Zubat Blu-ray BOX," on December 17th, the first episode will be broadcast in a 4K negative scan HD remastered version that will be included on the BD.
"Kaiketsu Zubat" is a thrilling hero action series that aired from February to September 1977. After his best friend Asuka Goro is murdered, private detective Hayakawa Ken tracks down the real culprit, wandering around the country with a white guitar in hand and eliminating local villains. Miyauchi Hiroshi plays Hayakawa Ken with his cheesy delivery and striking poses, and despite being a children's program, it was a hit with viewers at the time as a show that adults could also get hooked on.
