The 18th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake " (Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and other times), starring Akari Takaishi as the heroine, was broadcast on October 22nd, depicting the reunion of Toki (Takaishi) and Ginjiro ( Kanichiro) in Tokyo. In the episode, viewers were drawn to a comment made by Ginjiro.
In episode 18, Toki comes to Tokyo in search of Ginjiro and meets Nishikori (Ryo Yoshizawa), Negishi (Kitano Hideki), and Wakamiya (Tanaka Toru), who are from Matsue and live with Ginjiro.
While everyone waits for Ginjiro to return, Nishikori asks Toki why he came to see him, to which Toki responds, "Ginjiro ran away from me," and begins to tell him the story. At that moment, Ginjiro returns, and Toki and Ginjiro are reunited.
Toki and Ginjiro are now alone. Ginjiro kneels down and apologizes to Toki for suddenly disappearing without telling her where he was going. He tells her that his feelings for Toki have not changed, but that he cannot return to the Matsuno family. Toki also reflects, saying, "I was really spoiled," and adds, "I couldn't stop my grandfather from nagging me about my rank as a samurai. But... my grandfather... sold all of the family's armor and swords. I think my grandfather also feels sorry for Ginjiro."
Toki honestly expressed her feelings, "And... above all... I want to live with you again, Ginjiro," but Ginjiro took Toki's hand and asked, "Wouldn't it be okay if we were just the two of us? How about living in Tokyo, just the two of us, as a married couple?"
The next morning, Toki treats Negishi to clam miso soup for breakfast as a thank you for letting him stay. Negishi jokingly tells Ginjiro, "You shouldn't run away from a wife who makes such delicious asa-ge." When Ginjiro replies, "But now... I think we'll be together forever," Toki's expression shows a complex mix of joy and annoyance.
In response to Ginjiro's line, "I think we'll be together forever," comments on social media included, "It's so sad...", "Ginjiro is so brave, I'm in tears", "The story wouldn't work if they were together forever. I know that, but it's sad that these two have to break up", "Hey, I hope they stay together forever", "This is the newlywed life Ginjiro has always dreamed of.
