The 40th episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama , entitled "The Never-ending Fountain of Desire", was broadcast on October 19th, and Kenjiro Tsuda made his first appearance in the role of Takizawa Sokichi (later known as Kyokutei Bakin).
"UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama and depicts the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have laid the foundations for Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, who is known for her work on the highly talked-about "Drama 10: Ooku," which aired on NHK two years ago.
In the 40th episode, Tsutaju (Yokohama), who was sentenced to half his salary, resumes his business and visits Kyoden (Masayoshi, Furukawa Yudai) to ask him to write a book, and his wife Kiku (Futo Nozomi) asks him to take care of Takizawa Sokichi (Sakichi, Tsuda).
Tsutaju is kept in the store as an assistant, but Sokichi gets into a fight with Katsukawa Shunro (Tomoya Maeno!), a disciple brought in by Katsukawa Shunsho (Maeno Tomoya)...and so the story unfolds.
The same episode also featured a scene where Tsuda's character, Sokichi, and Shunsuke Kazama's character, Tsuruya, came face to face. Tsuda and Kazama were rivals in the TV anime "Yu-Gi-Oh! Oh! Duel Monsters," in which they both served as voice actors. Fans responded on social media with comments such as, "Oh my, Shunsuke Kazama and Kenjiro Tsuda faced off... Duel, standby!", "Shunsuke Kazama and Kenjiro Tsuda on the same screen! I thought the duel was about to begin lol," and "I instinctively got ready for a duel (not really)."
In the end, Sokichi clashed with Shunro (Nino's Katsushika Hokusai) played by Kukki, which led to comments such as, "Tsudaken's duel opponent was Kukki, not Kazama," "What? He dueled with Kukki," "A duel between Tsuda Kenjiro and Kukki," and "It was Kukki who dueled (fought) with Tsuda, not Tsuruya played by Kazama. And it was a pretty serious fight, too."
