The drama series "A Little Bit of Esper" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9pm) starring Yo Oizumi will begin airing on October 21st. The script is an original by Akiko Nogi. After being fired from his company and losing his family and savings, Bunta (Oizumi) is a down-and-out salaryman who passes the audition for the mysterious company "Nonamare" and becomes a "little bit of esper" who saves the world. The first episode will be extended by six minutes.
Miyazaki Aoi plays the heroine, Shiki, a mysterious woman who believes Bunta is her real husband; Aoi Miyazaki plays Kizashi, the president of Nonamare who assigns Bunta and the others mysterious missions; Dean Masaki Okada plays Ousuke, a "flower-blooming esper" who makes flowers bloom when stroked; Takahata Atsuko plays Enjaku, a "microwave esper" who warms things up slightly when you think about it; Atsuko Takahata plays Hanzo, an "animal request esper" who can talk a little bit with animals; and Takumi Kitamura plays Ichimatsu, a mysterious university student who approaches Bunta and the others.
In the first episode... After being fired from his company and losing his family and money, Bunta is in despair. One day, he receives an invitation to an interview from a company called "Nonamare." At the final interview, the company president, Cho (Okada), asks Bunta to swallow a capsule. He swallows it flustered, and to his surprise, he passes. Cho tells him, "From today, you're an esper." His job is to save the world.
"What's an esper? Saving the world...!?" Confused, Bunta heads to Nonamare's company housing, where he is greeted by a strange woman named Shiki (Miyazaki). Cho tells Bunta that he must live with Shiki as a temporary couple. Shiki herself has lost her memory, and for some reason believes Bunta to be her real husband.
The next morning, Bunta receives a card with a mission written on it. However, it is all inconsequential. "Will this really save the world?" he wonders, but Bunta, who has the mentality of an office worker, tackles the mysterious mission with all his might.
