Actress Erika Sawajiri attended the brand launch press conference for sports apparel brand "DIG" held in Tokyo on October 10th. This was her first public appearance in about 1 year and 8 months since the dress rehearsal for the stage play "A Streetcar Named Desire," which marks her return to acting in 2024. Sawajiri appeared early wearing the brand's snowwear, adding a touch of elegance to the venue.
DIG is a next-generation sports apparel brand produced by Koichi Nishimura, an active beach volleyball player. Sawajiri has been appointed as a brand ambassador for DIG alongside actor Yosuke Kubozuka. The brand visuals they shot together have also been released.
This will be Sawajiri and Kubozuka's first time acting together in about 15 years since the film "Helter Skelter" which was released in 2012. Sawajiri said of Kubozuka, "He's as cool and wonderful as ever. It didn't feel like it had been a long time, it felt like we had just met recently, it was a strange feeling but I felt comfortable. Filming was also fun."
On this day, Kubozuka was absent from the event due to filming a drama. He appeared on video and said, "It was great to be able to co-star with Erika Sawajiri after a long time," and presented her with a "snowman cake" in reference to snowwear. Sawajiri was delighted with the surprise, saying, "It's so cute!"
Brand producer Koichi Nishimura and photographer Leslie Kee, who was in charge of the visual shoot, also appeared at the press conference.
