Actor Rei Kikukawa will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 p.m. on October Getsuku.
She married in 2017, gave birth to her first son in 2019 at the age of 41, and has three children. She divorced in November last year and became a single mother. The person she was able to talk to about her anxieties was freelance announcer Ogura Tomoaki, with whom she had co-starred on live TV shows for many years.
Although she knew that Ogura was battling an illness, when she told him that she was feeling down, he encouraged her by saying, "Rei-chan, it's okay." Shortly after that phone call, the news of Ogura's death arrived, and the words "It's okay" were the last words they ever spoke. Even now, when she feels down, she remembers those words to motivate herself.
Taking her three children to and from school and kindergarten is already a lot of work, but now that her eldest son has started elementary school, she is taking care of the younger ones, who she still needs to keep an eye on, and she says with a motherly face that she can see them growing up.
