The first episode of the drama series "Jaa, Anta ga Tsukutte Miro yo It" (TBS, Tuesdays at 10pm), starring actors Kaho and Takeuchi Ryoma, was broadcast on October 7th, and the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 6.3% for households and 3.4% for individuals.
The drama is based on the manga of the same name by Natsuko Taniguchi, which is currently being serialized in the digital comic magazine "Comic Tanto" (Bunkasha). It is a romantic comedy about a girlfriend (Kaho) who has lost herself in putting her lover first, and her boyfriend (Takeuchi), who has a patriarchal mentality and believes that women should cook, and how they rekindle their relationship after a breakup. The script was written by Kei Ando, head of the Ampersand Theatre Company, who won the Kishida Kunio Drama Award for "Even if you don't walk, you'll hit a stick."
The first episode features Ayumi, a devoted girlfriend, and her Showa-era "fossil man" boyfriend, Katsuo. One day, after careful preparations, Katsuo proposes to Ayumi, but she turns him down. He was perfect in both his job and his looks... Troubled, Katsuo is asked by a junior colleague at work to make Chikuzenni, a dish Ayumi excels at, but he discovers that the "cooking" he thought he could do is extremely difficult and time-consuming. Meanwhile, Ayumi is hanging out with her friends in a rather ominous place... and so the story unfolds.
