Actress Minami Hamabe appeared at the press conference for Kirin Beer's new product, "Killing Good Ale," held in Tokyo on October 7th. This was her first time appearing in a commercial for an alcoholic beverage, and Hamabe said with a wry smile that during filming she uttered a word that "even I myself didn't understand the meaning of."
Hamabe attended the press conference with fellow actors Haruka Ayase and Ryohei Suzuki, who also appear in the commercial, and the popular rock band Mrs. Green Apple. When asked about her thoughts on appearing in her first alcohol commercial, she reflected on the shoot, saying, "I didn't know what to do, and I had been thinking about it since the day before, but once we toasted together, I relaxed and had a great time. I felt happy every time we clinked glasses."
"Kirin Good Ale" will be released on the same day as the company's third pillar new brand, following "Kirin Ichiban Shibori Draft Beer" and "Kirin Beer Harekaze." It is billed as a "completely new beer" that combines a fruity taste and aroma with a pleasant aftertaste.
Hamabe, who described the taste of the product as "chinshan" during filming, was asked by Suzuki to explain the meaning of the word, to which she replied with a wry smile, "I was suddenly asked by the staff and my head was filled with excitement...I don't know what it means myself, but I think people who drink it will be able to relate to it."
Mrs. Green Apple's Motoki Omori then followed up by saying, "I understand," to which Suzuki replied, confused, "Am I the only one who doesn't understand (lol)?!"
