On October 2nd, Shuto Inomata of the popular eight-member group "timelesz" attended a press conference in Tokyo for the drama series "Papa to Chichi no Uchigohan" (TV Asahi, Saturdays at 11pm), which starts on the 4th. This is Inomata's first drama appearance, and he commented about the lead actor, fellow senior member of the group, So Matsushima So, saying, "I was a bit nervous, but having So there makes it easier."
Inomata looked nervous that day, and stumbled over her words during her self-introduction at the beginning. "When I'm nervous, I stumble over my words (laughs). I was worried because I didn't know what the atmosphere would be like on set (of the drama), but Satoshi told me, 'Just have fun. You can rely on lots of people,' which I was grateful for. If he hadn't said that, I think I would have stumbled over my words even more," she said, expressing her gratitude to Matsushima.
On the other hand, he also made a surprising remark, saying, "Sato-kun is always soft-spoken. He's reliable, but he has a small back." In response, Matsushima burst out laughing, saying, "Small?!", to which he replied, "He has a really big back during the filming of the drama. He really leads us." Matsushima showed a relieved expression, saying, "I'm glad he lifted me up (laughs)," and the two exchanged words in perfect harmony.
Matsushima said of Inomata, "He has so much courage that it's hard to believe it's his first appearance. The first scene we shot was a dialogue scene (between the two of us), where he gets angry, happy, and emotionally unstable, but he looked me in the eye and delivered his lines. In a good way, you don't get the sense of nervousness. I think that's what you'd expect from someone who passed the Timelesz audition (timepro), and it's reassuring."
The drama is based on the manga of the same name (Shinchosha) by Toyoda Yu, who is known for "It Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!," and stars Matsushima of the comedy duo Timelessz and actor Shirasu Jin. It is a family drama about single fathers Sengoku Satoshi (Matsushima) and Harumi Masahiro (Shirasu) as they struggle to raise their children while living together. Inomata will play Akutsu Tatsuya, a part-time worker at the orthopedic clinic run by Sengoku.
Matsushima, Shirasu, Misako Renbutsu, and child actors Tanahashi Nono and Sakura also attended the press conference.
