Takasugi Mahiro appears on "Nohara Hiroshi's Lunch Style"

It has been announced that actor Mahiro Takasugi will be appearing as a voice actor in the TV anime "Nohara Hiroshi's Lunch Style," an official spin-off of the popular manga "Crayon Shin-chan Shin-chan." He will play the original character, the good-natured young man Takagi Akitake, from the series. Takasugi revealed that he is such a big fan of the series that he would watch the anime "Crayon Shin-chan-chan" with his siblings as a child and laugh out loud, and commented, "I've always thought it would be great if I could be involved in (a Crayon Shin-chan chan production) in some way. I never thought I'd be given the opportunity to voice a character in a spin-off, so I'm extremely happy."

Takagiri, played by Takasugi, is a 22-year-old with a refreshing smile and exceptional talent. He has a gourmet social media account with 4,000 followers, and is a character who is just as much of a gourmet as Nohara Hiroshi. Takasugi commented on Takagiri's good-natured personality, saying, "At first, I thought he was a little suspicious (laughs). He's too much of a 'nice guy.' But as I played the role, I realized that this was his true self." He also sent a message to viewers, saying, "I think everyone will admire Hiroshi's cool side, who pursues food with passion and then works hard at his job. Please look forward to it!"

Additional cast members announced include Masumoto Takuya as Hiroshi's junior colleague Kawaguchi, and Kana Ichinose as Yosugi Haruka, an original character from the manga who, like Takagiri, is an overly self-conscious university student who works part-time at a restaurant.

"Nohara Hiroshi's Lunch Style" began serialization in December 2015 in Monthly Manga Town (Futabasha, currently on hiatus) as a work commemorating the 25th anniversary of the serialization of "Crayon Shin-chan Shin-chan." The manga is by Yoichi Tsukahara and is currently being serialized on the website "Crayon Shin-chan." The story depicts Hiroshi, who works as an office worker for his family, and how he takes great care with his lunch as a way to take a brief break.

The anime will be directed by Nishiyama Tsukasa, known for "Human Bug University - Department of Immortality and Misfortune." It will be produced as a Flash animation by DLE, known for "Secret Society Eagle Talon." As in the "Crayon Shin-chan chan" anime, Toshiyuki Morikawa will play Nohara Hiroshi. It will be broadcast on BS Asahi every Friday at 11pm starting from October 3rd.
