It has been announced that voice actors Junya Enoki, Ayumu Murase, Ayumu Murase, and Kentaro Kumagai will appear in the new anime series "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers," the official sequel to the "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers" series, which aired from April 1988 to Kentaro Kumagai. Other than the protagonist Gai/Scorching Gai, whose initials have only been revealed, the four other Samurai Troopers will be played by Enoki as Kaito Uesugi/Kite of the Blue Sky, Murase as Musashi Hojo/Musashi of the Water Curtain, Takeuchi as Yamato Hojo/Yamato of the Wilderness, and Kumagai as Shion Ishida/Shion of the Flash. With Hiyori Ishibashi playing Gai, the cast of five Samurai Troopers is now complete.
A teaser visual featuring five Samurai Troopers was released with the tagline, "If we don't do it, who will?", along with setting images of each character in armor and casual clothes. A teaser PV was also released on YouTube, depicting the characters clad in armor and determined to fight with their respective thoughts in mind, as well as powerful scenes featuring them armed.
Enoki plays Uesugi Kaito, a 15-year-old boy raised by his grandmother, Uesugi Yoshie. Influenced by Yoshie, he enjoys rock music, but he actually has a secret hobby. He fights evil spirits wearing a suit of Azure Armor. Enoki commented, "I'm very happy to be able to take part in the sequel to Samurai Troopers! I think this work will have an atmosphere that blends Reiwa and Showa, so I hope everyone will look forward to it!"
Murase plays Hojo Musashi, a 14-year-old who grew up in the Mori Children's Home. He is recognized for his talent as a Samurai Trooper and works as Musashi of the Suiren. He checks his fortune on his smartphone every day and believes in lucky items and advice. Murase said, "I never thought I would be able to take part in the sequel to such a legendary work! There are many seniors on set who are fans of the work, so I am acting with excitement and enjoyment. I hope you will look forward to it!"
Takeuchi plays Hojo Yamato, a 16-year-old from the Forest of Truth orphanage who is like an older brother to Musashi. He has a stronger sense of justice than anyone and admires heroes. As a mood maker and supporter of the other members, he fights wearing the armor of the wilderness. Takeuchi commented, "So this is the Reiwa version of NG5?! Sorry for getting all excited. It's Takeuchi. The cast of Samurai Troopers are all friendly and often improvise a lot, which can make it difficult to keep things going. I also improvise, hoping that only the seniors here will like it. The sound director has told me to do it properly, Takeuchi. I won't be discouraged. Anyway, this is the Reiwa version of NG...or rather, the new Samurai Troopers! I hope you'll support me. Armed!"
Ishida Shion, played by Kumagai, is an 18-year-old long-haired young man who often uses English words in conversation. Contrary to his appearance, he is a kind-hearted and caring person who cares for his friends. He wears flashing armor and leads the other members as the oldest member of the group. Kumagai said, "A sequel to Samurai Troopers, set 38 years after the events of the series...!! I feel humbled to be involved and to be entrusted with the voice of Shion. I will do my best to portray this slightly sarcastic, yet kind-hearted character. I look forward to your continued support."
It was also announced that a plastic model of Burning Guy, "30MF Yoroishinden Samurai Trooper Burning Guy," will be released in March 2026 by BANDAI SPIRITS' original plastic model brand, "30 MINUTES FANTASY." By swapping parts, it is possible to recreate the armament from Under Gear to Armor Gear. Facial parts, hand parts, and effect parts are included. Pre-orders will be accepted from September 16th.
