A new commercial for Ezaki Glico's chocolate snack "Pocky," starring actress Ayana Shiramoto, who has attracted attention for her role as Nagakura Erina in the Fuji TV drama series "Second to Last Love," began airing on September 5th.
Shiramoto, 23 years old and born on May 14, 2002, has been selected as the new image character for Pocky, which is said to be a stepping stone for young actors. She started out as a child actress and played the heroine in the special effects drama Kamen Rider Amazons Season 2.
The new commercial, "Pocky Revolution," features Shiramoto, the three-person rap group Scha Dara Parr, and the two-person rock band Nakigoto. Dressed in bright red Pocky-colored outfits, Shiramoto is at the center, and the whole group sings "Pocky Revolution" together, conveying the appeal of Pocky, which has been renewed for the first time in 10 years.
Previous Pocky commercials have featured Nana Okada, Momoe Yamaguchi, Seiko Matsuda, Yui Aragaki Aragaki, Satomi Ishihara, Kasumi Arimura, Shiori Kutsuna, and Sara Minami. Shiramoto said of appearing in the commercial, "It was a revolutionary surprise. The feeling of happiness didn't really come over me until much later, and I'm still overwhelmed with surprise."
