It has been announced that Nao Kosaka of the idol group Hinatazaka46 will be appearing in the drama series W-30 "Strobe Edge Season 1," which will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW from October 31st. In this ensemble love story about high school students, she will play Uehara Sayuri, the best friend of the heroine Kinoshita Ninako (played by Fukumoto Riko).
The original work is the manga of the same name by Io Sakisaka, which has a total of 10 volumes and has sold over 8 million copies (including digital versions). Although it has been made into a movie, this is the first time it has been made into a TV series, starring Fukumoto and Kyohei Takahashi of the popular group " Naniwa Danshi ." In order to fully depict the charm of the original story, it will be divided into two parts, Season 1 and Season 2.
The eight cast members who will grace the show, including Kosaka, have been announced. Yamashita Koki will play Ando Takumi, a flirtatious man who gradually falls deeply in love with Ninako, Koki Yamashita will play Korenaga Daiki, a classmate from middle school who is devoted to Ninako, Nakagawa Tsubasa will play Motoki Nakazawa, a cute little brother figure affectionately known as "Gacchan", Tsubasa Nakagawa, a classmate who keeps an eye on the romance between Ninako and Sayuri, Oguri Yui of AKB48 will play Kashiwagi Ritsuko, a student who works at the cafe where Ninako and the others start working part-time, and Tanabe Ririka will play Korenaga Mayuka, Daiki's older sister, a popular model for fashion magazines and the girlfriend of Ichinose Ren, played by Takahashi.
Sayuri, played by Kosaka, is in love with Taiki, who is in love with her best friend Ninako. She takes both her own love life and her friendship with her close friends Ninako and Tamaki very seriously. Kosaka commented, "This is my first time appearing in a love story, so I'm very happy to be able to take on this new challenge and bring the world of the original work to life through this two-part series with such a wonderful cast."
