It has been announced that former idol group Nogizaka46 member Seira Nagashima will be appearing in the new special effects drama Ultraman series, Ultraman Omega. Nagashima will appear in episode 10, "Close Contact! The Real Faces of the Two," which will air on September 13th, and will play Maki Shinkawa, a reporter who asks Sorato and Kosei to do an in-depth interview.
It was also announced that Nagata Nariya, known for his role as Nada/Gaisorg in the Super Sentai series "Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger," will appear in the film. Nagata will appear in episode 11, "Grim Again," which will air on September 20, and episode 12, "What I Want to Do," which will air on September 27, playing Taira Kazuyasu, who leads the NDF countermeasure team that confronts the monsters alongside Ayumu.
Nagashima commented, "When I heard about this project, I was surprised, thinking, 'Who the hell would I get to appear in Ultraman?!' I thought that at my age, it might not be my chance any more, but if you wish for it strongly enough, it can come true. My brothers and I looked forward to Ultraman every week. I wish I could tell my younger self that when you grow up, you can jump into the world of Ultraman. Director Ichino Ryuichi did a wonderful job directing, and Shinkawa Maki, the character I play, has become a strong character! Above all, I was happy to have been able to create this work with everyone on the team who is so passionate about Ultraman. Ultraman Omega is so cool! Please look forward to it!"
Nagata said, "In one word, I think Tairakazuyasu can be best described as 'honest.' I think he is a man who 'shows his own role' and 'style' through his 'behavior' as he interacts with Kousei and Ayumu. And personally, I am happy to have been able to fulfill another of my childhood dreams. I hope you will watch to see how he gets involved in the story."
Cuts from the episodes to be broadcast in September have been released. In episodes 11 and 12, Grime, the heat-ray monster that faced Omega in the past, reappears, throwing the series into chaos. To add insult to injury, Eldgimera, an even more powerful explosive cell monster, appears. Sorato and Kousei continue to fight despite their injuries, but find themselves in a pinch like never before.
"Ultraman Omega" stars Okida Sorato, an alien (Ultraman) who suddenly falls from the sky onto an Earth where neither heroes nor monsters exist. Sorato transforms into Ultraman Omega and fights monsters, teaming up with the Earthling Hoshimi Kosei to explore the question, "Why does Ultraman protect the Earth?" Takei Masayoshi, known for "Ultraman R/B" and "Ultraman Decker," serves as main director, with Nemoto Toshizo and Ashiki Junichiro handling series composition. Actor Shori Kondo plays the lead character, Sorato. The series airs every Saturday at 9:00 AM on TV Tokyo.
