Additional cast members have been announced for the third season of the anime series Record of Ragnarok, Record of Ragnarok III, based on the battle manga currently being serialized in Monthly Comic Zenon (Core Mix). The cast includes Shiori Mikami as Alvito, the 13th of the Valkyries who sacrifice themselves to become weapons; Misako Tomioka as Gendul, the 9th; and Mai Todo as Geirel. The second promotional video, featuring the ending theme "Last breath, Last record" sung by Saori Hayami, has also been released.
Mikami commented, "I was thrilled by the fierce battle for the survival of humanity as I read the original work, sometimes crying. In particular, when I read about the battle between Qin Shi Huang and Hades, I was struck like a bolt of lightning. The story of this anime begins with the seventh match! To think that the day would finally come when we would be able to see this battle on screen...!! I have been waiting for this for so long, with all my heart! I am very happy to have been able to take part in this production as Alvito, feeling the passion on set firsthand. Please look forward to the broadcast!!"
Tomioka said, "I read the original work before recording and fell in love with Nikola Tesla. It made me want to root for him! I played the role with love, hoping to be able to be of strength to him. "Record of Ragnarok" is a manga illustrated by Ajichika, written by Umemura Shinya, and written by Fukui Takumi, and began serialization in Monthly Comic Zenon in 2017. Representatives of the gods and humans from around the world compete in 13 one-on-one battles. The comic has sold over 18 million copies in total.
The first season of the anime was released in June 2021, with episodes 1-10 of the second season, "Record of Record of Ragnarok II," the first part of which was released in January 2023, and episodes 11-15 of the second season, the second part, released in July of the same year. The third season will be available on Netflix from December.
