Mitorizu's Moriyama transforms into a beauty man

Shintaro Moriyama, a member of the comedy duo "Mitorizu," who has been making headlines for his success in losing 20kg, appeared on stage at the new commercial launch event for the cosmetic dermatology clinic "Freya Clinic" held in Tokyo on August 20th. He spoke about his "transformation" into a beauty-conscious man.

Moriyama took on the challenge of body makeup for a fashion magazine project, and successfully lost 20kg, going from 104kg to 84kg. "The day before the shoot, I was made to dehydrate and desalinate. I was made to take a half-body bath for seven hours. I nearly lost consciousness during the shoot," he recalled, before adding, "Until then, (for me) maximum beauty was just washing my face with water. (After the project) I started using beauty serums and the like... Now I'm a beauty guy." He revealed, "I've always admired Takashi Sorimachi, so I use the beauty products that Sorimachi appears in commercials for."

He has now gained back 3kg and is now at 87kg. "I'm still overweight, but before I would almost throw up when I saw my reflection in the glass, so it's much better than before," he said, confident in his current state. When asked about his future plans for beauty, he said, "I want to remove my beard. And my chest hair too...I look like a Yeti when I'm naked in the winter."

At the new commercial announcement event, she appeared on stage with her partner Lily and model and actor Meru Nukumi as "Meruru."
