The key visual and official trailer for the TV anime "Touring After the Apocalypse," based on the unique touring manga by Saito Sakae currently being serialized in "Dengeki Maoh" (KADOKAWA), have been released. The story follows two girls, Yoko and Airi, and a Serow off-road bike as they race around a ruined Japan. The visuals and trailer depict the girls' joyous journey.
It was also announced that the band Conton Candy will perform the opening theme "Touring" and singer-songwriter Myuk will perform the ending theme "Glide."
Conton Candy commented, "When we decided to be involved in ' Touring After the Apocalypse', my first thought was how I could incorporate the nostalgic and chaotic worldview of this work into the music. That's why I thought that Conton Candy would be able to create it from a new perspective, but when we actually got started, we found that we ourselves had had a variety of experiences while traveling around the country with our equipment truck and going on tour. I'm honored to have been able to write a song for this work that allowed me to re-examine what it means to be a band through this major commonality."
Myuk said, "I am very happy to be able to provide music for ' Touring After the Apocalypse.' Airi and Yoko feel lonely in a world where no one is left, but they never lose their curiosity. I was inspired by their journey. I hope you will enjoy 'Glide,' which is filled with the strong desire to 'keep running.' I will be watching over this heartwarming tale of adventure."
It was also announced that an advance screening of the first and second episodes of the series and a cast talk event will be held at Yokohama Burg 13 (Naka-ku, Yokohama) on September 23rd. Konomi Inagaki, who plays Yoko, and Miyu Tomita, who plays Airi, will be in attendance.
The collaboration visual between "Touring After the Apocalypse" and the TV anime "That's Zatsu Tabi: That's Journey" has been released. Both works are based on the original manga serialized in "Dengeki Maoh" and are based on the theme of travel, which is why they decided to collaborate.
"Touring After the Apocalypse" depicts Yoko and Airi traveling tandem on an off-road Serow motorcycle through a deserted post-apocalyptic world. With no traffic jams and no traffic lights to stop at, they take photos of famous landscapes, camp in the middle of a city surrounded by nature, and drive around a ruined Japan. The TV anime will begin airing in October.
