Actor Megumi Okina will appear on the talk show "Oshare Clip" (Nippon TV, Sunday 10pm) on July 27th. She will look back on her "tumultuous life", including her teenage years when she was tormented by the gap between her image and the image society had of her, her twenties when she had many worries and even felt like she "shouldn't be happy", and her third marriage.
Okina made her debut in the entertainment industry at the age of 13 and quickly rose to the top of her game, but she says that there was a time when she was troubled by the gap between her image as "pure" and "glamorous." According to a friend who knows her real face, in her teens, Okina "suppressed her emotions," and she was so conscious of how others saw her that "something went wrong somewhere," and in her twenties, she decided to live abroad.
At the time (in her 20s), Okina had many worries and even felt that she "shouldn't be happy," but in her private life, she got married for the first time at the age of 24. She gave birth to her first and second daughters in her second marriage. She reveals that becoming a mother at the age of 30 caused a change in her mindset.
Okina has been married to her current husband, actor Ryo Kimura, for 10 years. After two divorces, she had thought, "I don't want to get married again," but what were the words of her husband, who is nine years younger than her, that eased her mind?
