The latest 45th volume of the popular manga "Space Brothers" by Chuya Koyama, which has been adapted into an anime and a live-action film, was released on July 23rd, and it was revealed that the series will be completed in the next volume.
Author Koyama commented, "Volume 45 of Space Brothers is now on sale! I'm sorry to have kept you waiting so long. As always, I think you'll find it easier to become immersed in and enjoy volume 45 if you go back and read the previous volume, 44, and follow along. And the same can be said for the next volume. The next volume will be the final volume. I think... There's not much left until the end... I hope you enjoy volume 45."
"Space Brothers" began serialization in "Morning" (Kodansha) in 2007, and became a huge hit, winning both the 56th Shogakukan Manga Award (general category) and the 35th Kodansha Manga Award (general category) in 2011. The story is about two brothers who promised to become astronauts as children, but ended up following different fates and aiming for space.
A television anime series was broadcast from 2012 to 2014, and a live-action film starring actors Shun Oguri and Masaki Okada was released in 2012.
