Saburo Ishikura: "I didn't have a good time" during his childhood

Actor Saburo Ishikura will appear on the BS12 TwellV program "Tsurube-chan and Sawako-chan: Showa's Great Senpai and the Strange Two," which will be broadcast from 9 p.m. on July 21. Born on Shodoshima Island in Kagawa Prefecture as the youngest of four siblings, Ishikura says that he "didn't have a good time" as a child, and talks about how he aspired to be a manga artist and wrote a letter to Shinji Mizushima, the creator of "Dokaben," asking to become his apprentice.

Each episode of the show features guests from the Showa era, including Tsurube, who has 52 years of show business experience, and Agawa, who has 40 years of experience, who are called "Tsurube-chan" and "Sawako-chan."

Ishikura will talk about what inspired him to become an actor, and after he was accepted into a theater company and entered the entertainment industry, he will share behind-the-scenes tales of his precious interactions with big-name celebrities such as Takakura Ken, Kyu Sakamoto, and Miki Norihei, as well as anecdotes from his time as a comedian in the group "Conte Leonardo."

The trailer also includes a glimpse of Ishikura revealing, "It was a big breakup."
