Ryota Yamazato of the comedy duo Nankai Candies appeared on the Nippon Television morning information program "DayDay." (Monday to Friday 9:00 am) on June 26th. His wife, actress Yu Aoi, who made their first TV appearance since their wedding press conference, revealed an episode about her birthday present.
When asked what she received from Yamazato for her birthday last year, Aoi revealed, "Yamazato usually asks Tanaka Minami about birthday presents. These are the things Tanaka Minami taught me," which caused laughter in the studio.

Yamazato said that he has given Aoi sunscreen and shampoo as gifts based on the advice he received from Tanaka, and revealed, "I bought so much shampoo it was like I was buying it from a retailer. Tanaka Minami-sensei recommended some to me, and it worked well together. I bought a lot of it..."
Furthermore, when announcer Takeda Shinichi asked, "Aren't you buying expensive things like rings or accessories?" Aoi happily replied, "But he did buy me some things!" Yamazato tried desperately to change the topic, but said shyly, "I'm sorry, but I've been indebted to him for a lot of things. We kept saying 'thank you for this' and 'thank you for this' too much."
Yamazato and Aoi got married in June 2019. Their first child, a daughter, was born in August 2022.
