The popular group "Travis Japan" appeared at an event for Disney's live-action movie "Lilo & Stitch" (directed by Dean Fleischer-Camp) held in Tokyo on June 16th. Titled "One Night Only Lilo & Stitch Premium Dance Night," Travis Japan performed the Japanese version's ending song "Burning Love." Group member Kaito Nakamura is the voice of David in the Japanese version of "Lilo & Stitch," and fellow member Genta Matsuda revealed that he went to see the movie at the cinema.
Matsuda voiced Taka in the movie "The Lion King: Mufasa" released in December 2024, making him Nakamura's "senior" as a voice actor. When asked, "Did Matsuda give Nakamura any advice as a senior?" Matsuda answered, "No. It would be presumptuous," and added, "When I heard that (Nakamura) passed the audition, I was happy as if it were my own achievement." Matsuda saw the movie at the cinema and said, "The moment I saw 'Kaito Nakamura' in the credits, I cried the most," to which Nakamura smiled and said, "It makes me shiver when I hear that."
The film is a live-action adaptation of Disney's animation "Lilo & Stitch." Set on the island of Kauai in Hawaii, it is a fantasy that depicts the important bond of "ohana (family)." A young girl named Lilo and her older sister Nani, who have lost their parents, are confronted by Stitch, a rowdy alien who knows no family love. Stitch's unpredictable actions cause chaos on the peaceful island, but this miraculous encounter eventually changes the sisters who were close to losing hope. The film was released on June 6th.
