It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime series " Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon：Season 2 to feature Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Rie Takahashi, " based on a popular light novel from the novel posting site " Shosetsuka ni Naro, " will be broadcast on TOKYO MX, BS Nippon Television, and other stations from July 2nd. Along with the tagline "Face the greatest crisis," a key visual featuring the main characters Hakkon and Rammis, who have been reincarnated as vending machines, has been released.
Additional cast members were announced, including Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Hebui, a shoe fetishist priest, and Rie Takahashi as Kikoyu, a mysterious girl. Kotomi Aihara will take over from Shiki Aoki as Hurrumi.
Matsuoka said, "I am Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, and I will be playing Hebi. I'm a heavy guy, I'm a heavy guy. I love shoes, I'm a heavy guy who loves shoes...! Everyone calls me a pervert, but... I'm a heavy guy. I'm an interesting guy, so I think if you watch the movie you'll understand what I'm trying to convey. But... I'm also a guy who's not easy to understand."
Takahashi commented, "I watched the first season before taking part in this project, and maybe this is just my opinion, but the vending machine system is really interesting...! I really enjoyed the way each character acts and the amusing developments, so I was really looking forward to being able to take part as Kikoyu. I hope that fans of the anime, the original work, and even Hiruma-sensei's previous work, 'I'm Unrivaled in the Field', will love Kikoyu and the others as they move and talk!"
It was also announced that they would perform the opening theme song "Mirai Cider" for the rock band BRADIO.
To commemorate the broadcast of the second season, a special program featuring Jun Fukuyama, who plays Hakkon, Kaede Hondo, who plays Ramis, and Takuya Eguchi, who plays Michel, will be broadcast on TOKYO MX from 10:00 pm on June 25th.
A collaboration project between the work and Sun Vending Tohoku, which installs and operates vending machines, will be carried out. A vending machine with a wrapping featuring Hakkon and Lammis has been installed at the vending machine museum in Kurihara City, Miyagi Prefecture.
"I was Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon" is a light novel by Hiruma and is published by Sneaker Bunko (KADOKAWA). The comic adaptation is currently being serialized in "Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh" (same publisher).
The bizarre setting of a man involved in a traffic accident being reborn as a vending machine in another world has become a hot topic. The first season of the TV anime aired from July to September 2023.
