It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime "A Couple of Cuckoos", based on the romantic comedy manga by Miki Yoshikawa currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and other stations from July 8th. The main promotional video featuring new character Ai Mochizuki has been released on YouTube. It was also announced that singer-songwriter asmi will be in charge of the opening theme "What You Gave Me", and the song was unveiled in the promotional video.
Asmi commented, "Love can sometimes distort even the most honest heart. When the curse-like magic is lifted, what will remain? I sang my own love song set to a fast-paced rock sound that's perfect for summer! I am truly happy to be involved in ' A Couple of Cuckoos' in this way. I hope it will powerfully color the lives of the five people and your story!"
In addition to Mochizuki Ai, who celebrated her birthday on June 11th, key visuals featuring Amano Erika, Segawa Hiro, Umino Sachi, and Umino Nagi were also released.
"A Couple of Cuckoos" is a manga by Yoshikawa, who is also known for "Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches" and "Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches." It depicts the love story of Umino Nagi, a second-year high school student at a prestigious private school, and Amano Erika, a super rich high school girl. The first season of the TV anime aired from April to October 2022.
The second season will be directed by Masakazu Hishida and series composition by Yuzuru Aoba. The digital voice actor idol project "22/7" will be in charge of the ending theme "Anata de Nai Cha".
