Fujio Akatsuka, a manga artist known for works such as "Tensai Bakabon" and "Osomatsu kun," will be featured on the NHK Educational TV educational program "How Much Do Great People Earn Each Year?", which will air at 7:30 pm on June Getsuku.
When Akatsuka was in junior high school, he was inspired by the manga of Osamu Tezuka and decided to become a manga artist. His goal was to create funny and humorous manga. However, he struggled in an era when sports and adventure manga were popular.
Nevertheless, he broke the rules of manga one after another, saying, "I want to draw manga that no one else has drawn!", and "Tensai Bakabon" became a huge hit. We explore the annual income of Akatsuka, a pioneer of comedy and known as the "King of Gag Manga."
