The "reading version" of the ending theme "Hitorigoto" by the band "Omoinotake" for the second season of the TV anime "The Apothecary Diaries " was released on YouTube on June 6th. The video features Aoi Yuki , the voice actress for the main character Maomao , reciting the lyrics to the instrumental version of the song.
Yuuki commented, "I thought that the song 'Hitorigoto' was a song that gave you the feeling that the thoughts you've kept secret in your heart are quietly putting into words. The 'feelings' put into the lyrics feel like they overlap with the relationship between Kosui and Maomao. I think that after watching the second season of the anime, the meaning will resonate even more deeply in your heart. It's as if the feelings that they couldn't put into words are allowed to be spoken only in the song. It's a very quiet song, but one that definitely leaves a lingering impression. I was honored to be able to recite it."
The light novel version of "The Apothecary Diaries" is published by Hero Bunko (Imagine Infos), and its comic adaptation has also gained popularity. The original series has sold over 40 million copies in total. The story is set in a glamorous harem on a certain continent, where Maomao, a poison taster, and the handsome harem manager Jinshi become embroiled in an incident that takes place in the harem, which is full of conspiracies and rumors. The first season of the TV anime aired on Nippon TV from October 2023 to March 2024. The second season is currently airing every Friday on "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT".
