It has been announced that the total number of copies of the manga "Phantom Busters" by Neo Shoko, which is currently being serialized in "Jump SQ." (Shueisha), has surpassed 850,000. The latest volume, volume 5, was released on June 4th, bringing the total number of copies to 850,000. The July issue of "Jump SQ.", which will be released on the same day, will feature "Phantom Busters" in center color, and will come with a specially drawn postcard and a special double-sided hologram card as an extra.
"Phantom Busters" is a youth comedy about four high school students who exorcise spirits, set in Kamakura. It began serialization in "Jump SQ." in August 2023 and has gained popularity, ranking second in the "2025 Recommended Comics Selected by Booksellers Nationwide" and fourth in the "2025 Manga Ranking for Anime Adaptation".
The story is about a high school freshman, top student, Koregishi Yuto, who meets a wild boy, Shishikuno Koro, who eats ghosts to exorcise them, and together they start up the Phantom Busters.... Kanzaki Kaoru, who can see ghosts, and Tamon Kotaro, who can hear them, join the group and set out to exorcise ghosts.
