It has been revealed that actor Takaya Kamikawa will be starring in the July drama series "Noh Mask Prosecutor" (TV Tokyo). Kamikawa, who plays the main character, expressionless ace prosecutor Shuntaro Fuwa, who wears his bangs up, said, "It's a substantial legal drama in which new mysteries emerge with each episode. I hope you will enjoy it."
The series is based on the same-titled novel by Shichiri Nakayama, who is also known as the "King of Plot Twists." It is a legal mystery in which Fuwa Shuntaro, the ace prosecutor at the Osaka District Public Prosecutors Office, played by Kamikawa, uncovers the truth behind cases without any consideration for the higher-ups at the prosecution or the police. Each episode develops a social theme depicting the dark side of Japanese society on the horizontal axis, and further depicts an exhilarating story that exposes the police organization's tendency to cover up and the prosecution organization's bureaucratic nature on the vertical axis.
Kamikawa, who has previously starred in live-action dramas based on Nakayama's works "Sword of Themis" (TV Tokyo) and "No Matter How Dark the Night" (WOWOW), commented, "I read the original work after reading the script, and was fascinated by the buddy duo Fuwa and Soryo, who struggle within the sturdy worldview of the framework. I feel that Nakayama's works are always worth acting in." He spoke about his role, saying, "If the protagonist's mission is to 'not fit into the norm,' then Fuwa Shuntaro is an unusual protagonist who 'only exists within the norm.'"
The serial drama "Noh Mask Prosecutor" will be broadcast on TV Tokyo affiliates every Friday at 9:00 pm from July 11th. The first episode will be 15 minutes longer.
