The third episode of the drama series "Angel Flight" starring Ryoko Yonekura will be broadcast on NHK General TV from 10:00 pm on May 17th. The subtitle of the episode is "Company Funeral vs. Okame Restaurant." Yoshizaki Megumi (Yo Kimiko), who visited Korea to watch an idol concert, suddenly dies, and Nami (Yonekura), who was in Seoul for a separate matter, has to transport the body.
While all flights to Japan are cancelled due to the typhoon, Nami manages to secure a flight to carry Megumi's coffin. Meanwhile, Imura (Daikichi Sugawara), the general affairs manager of a famous company, visits Kashiwagi (Kenichi Endo) and asks him to repatriate the company president (Hajime Inoue) who died suddenly in Seoul.
Because all flights to Japan are full, Kashiwagi orders Nami to prioritize transporting the president over Megumi, but...
This work is a dramatization of "Angel Flight: International Funeral Home Specialist" by Ryoko Sasa, winner of the 10th Kaiko Takeshi Non-Fiction Award. It depicts the activities of international funeral home specialists who transport the bodies of Japanese people who died overseas back to Japan, and foreigners who died in Japan back to their home countries. Yonekura plays Izawa Nami, a strong-willed single mother and company president.
In addition to Yonekura, the cast includes Honoka Matsumoto, Yu Shirota, Yuma Yamoto, Kayo Noro, Yu Tokui, Tamiyo Kusakari, Osamu Mukai, and Kenichi Endo. The drama was re-edited from the work distributed on Amazon Prime Video in 2024 and was broadcast on NHK BS and BS Premium 4K for the first time.
