It was announced on May 15th that actor Haruka Fukuhara will star in the drama series "Tomorrow Will Be a Better Day," which will be broadcast in July on Fuji TV's "Getsuku" time slot (Mondays at 9pm). This will be Fukuhara's first time starring in a "Getsuku" drama, and her first time appearing in a drama series in the station's GP (golden prime) time slot.
The drama is a completely original story set in a child consultation center. The protagonist, Natsui Tsubasa (Fukuhara), a detective in the violent crime division of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police, is transferred to the child consultation center, and the heartwarming story depicts how he comes into contact with various children and their parents as a new child welfare officer and grows together with them. Kento Hayashi plays Kurata Sosuke, a veteran child welfare officer who becomes Tsubasa's supervisor. This is the first time Fukuhara and Hayashi have acted together.
Fukuhara, who began her entertainment career as a child actor in 2005, will now be starring in her first "Getsuku" drama 20 years after her debut. "Getsuku means a lot to me. I've enjoyed many of the Getsuku dramas since I was little, so when I think that I'll actually be appearing in one, I'm still so happy and can't believe it. It's a place that I've enjoyed since I was little, so now it's my turn to do my best to convey the fun and excitement of that show to the viewers," she commented.
"This drama is a story about saving parents and children involved with child consultation centers. I think it's a drama that will evoke various emotions from each character. I hope that this drama will leave people with a little lighter in their hearts and warmer feelings after watching it, and I'm sure it's a drama that will make you kinder to people after watching it. I hope you'll look forward to it!"
Fuji TV producer Miyazaki Dan commented, "With the combined efforts of the cast and staff, we hope to create a production that will resonate with everyone who has children, those who were once children, and all those who are children right now, so please be sure to watch it!"
