The fourth episode of the TV drama " Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective " (TV Asahi, Tuesdays 9pm), starring actress Kanna Hashimoto , aired on May 13th, and the popular food made an appearance once again.
At the end of the episode, Teniikai General Hospital director Amakura Taisho (Yanagiba Toshiro) and Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly member Kuraishi Natsuko (Takashima Reiko) are having a secret meeting at a high-end Chinese restaurant. While you might think they are enjoying the food around the round table, they are actually eating the "Kesen Numa snack kelp" that appeared in the first episode.
"Kesennuma's Snack Konbu" is a real product manufactured and sold by the food company "Marunishi" in Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture. Natsuko, who is set to be from Kesennuma, treated it as "a specialty of my hometown." On social media, viewers shared comments such as "Konbu at the round table," "I thought they were eating grass, but it was snack konbu," "Why are these adults eating snack konbu at a high-end Chinese restaurant lol," and "It's hilarious that they keep bringing out pacifier konbu."
