"Why is it always someone else's problem? Hey, are you even listening!"
When Reiko vents her frustrations to Ryohei, he replies, "I'm tired too! To be honest, it's annoying. You're always blaming me like that." Reiko then says, "Okay. I'm going to cool my head for a bit," and leaves the house.
Afterwards, Ryohei sent a message to Reiko saying, "Sorry about earlier. I'm taking a half-day off tomorrow. I want to hear what Reiko has to say properly. I'm really sorry."
When Reiko returned home a while later, she found Ryohei sleeping on the floor. Next to him was the folded laundry. When she saw that the dishes had been washed, she couldn't help but smile...
On social media, people posted comments such as, "He folds the laundry and does the dishes. It's good that they have a proper discussion," "I'm sure those kinds of arguments with their husbands are common, but it's good that her husband apologizes and does the laundry and dishes himself," "The couple's quarrel scene is very realistic. After the fight, she forgives him just after he speaks kindly to her and does a little housework. It's so annoying," "I know Ryohei isn't a bad person though," and "Ryohei! He fell asleep while doing the dishes and folding them. It makes me cry."
Furthermore, there were comments such as, "Even if she had apologized by email later, or done the dishes, or taken a half-day off, the moment she lost her temper there, it was over lol," "From what has happened so far, my likability towards Nagano's husband started off negative, so I couldn't forgive him for folding laundry at all, and the timing to take a half-day off gave me the feeling that 'now's not the right time'. But Reiko was smiling, so it's OK," and "Even when I come home and see my tired husband falling asleep after doing housework, it only serves to calm me down, it doesn't make me smile."
The film is based on the novel "Taigan no Kaji" (Housework on the Other Side) by Kiko Akano (published by Kodansha Bunko). It depicts the "endless work" of housework through the protagonist's interactions with "people on the other side" who have different positions and ways of thinking than her.
