Actors Suzu Hirose, Hana Sugisaki, and Kaya Kiyohara attended a stage greeting to thank fans for the success of the movie "Unrequited Love World" (directed by Yuta Doi), in which they all starred, held in Tokyo on April 30th. In reference to the story of the movie, they spoke about "the people they want to have by their side."
During the stage greeting, the three answered questions sent in beforehand by the audience. In response to the question, "Is there anyone you want to be by your side even if our worlds are different?", Kiyohara answered, "Music. There are days when I listen to music from morning to night, so much so that I really can't live without it. That's how much music has helped me in life, so I think even if our worlds are different, I want to be by music's side."
Hirose immediately replied, "It's the cat I have now. I can't imagine not having one." Sugisaki smiled and said, "Maybe the sunset. I'd like to see the light. It's healing," to which Hirose was impressed, saying, "That was a cool thing to say."
Finally, Hirose reflected on her co-starring with Sugisaki and Kiyohara, who are of the same generation, and said, "It was a production that allowed me to encounter a variety of emotions. Although we weren't close since our teens, it was an incredibly valuable and happy experience to be able to work with the two of them, who have competed with each other."
The film is an original work by director Doi and screenwriter Yuji Sakamoto , who We Made a Beautiful Bouquet" (released in 2021), who teamed up again. Set in modern-day Tokyo, the film depicts young women who are troubled and confused but who live their lives without losing their kindness.
Misaki (Hirose), Yuka (Sugisaki), and Sakura (Kiyohara) live together in an old house in a corner of modern-day Tokyo. They are neither family nor classmates, but they go to work, school, or part-time jobs, spending their days happily and carefree, caring for each other and chatting away about trivial things. This is the story of the "unrequited love" that the three have been bound by a strong bond for 12 years and cannot tell anyone about.
