It has been announced that actor Sayaka Yamaguchi will be appearing in the NHK drama series "Hitori de Shinitai" (General), starring Haruka Ayase, which will begin on June 21st. She will play Mitsuko Yamaguchi, the aunt of the main character Narumi Yamaguchi (played by Ayase), who is discovered in an unexpected state, shocking Narumi.
The drama is based on the manga of the same name by Kaoru Curryzawa, which has been praised as a "laughable gag manga about end-of-life planning." Unmarried and childless, Narumi Yamaguchi was enjoying life alone. However, after her beloved aunt dies alone, Narumi's search for a husband is unsuccessful. She then makes a complete 180-degree turn from her search for a husband and starts thinking about end-of-life planning... This is the story of this comedy.
Mitsuko, played by Yamaguchi, is a single career woman who continues to work while enduring the cold words of society. She finds Narumi's mother, Masako (Keiko Matsuzaka), who seems to be a "royal winner as a woman," annoying, and they end up at odds with each other. After she retired, she stopped hanging around the Yamaguchi family, but...
It was also announced that Koseki Yuta will play Yamaguchi Satoshi, Narumi's younger brother, Tsunematsu Yuri will play Yamaguchi Mayu, Satoshi's wife and a glamorous social media girl, and Mitsushima Shinnosuke will play Kawakami Kentaro, an insurance company employee and ex-boyfriend of Narumi's whom he dated until he was 24 years old.
The drama will consist of six episodes and will be broadcast every Saturday at 10pm starting from June 21st.
