The full cast of the drama series "W I, KILL", starring actress Fumino Kimura and Juri Tanaka of the popular group "SixTONES", which is a collaboration between WOWOW, Shochiku and Shochiku Kyoto Studio, was revealed on April 16th. The latest trailer and a special interview with Kimura and Tanaka at the end of filming were also released on WOWOW's official YouTube channel.
The drama is a collaboration between cutting-edge creators and the top-class staff of the traditional Shochiku Kyoto Studio, and is aimed at overseas markets. It is a "historical spectacle x full-scale survival thriller from Kyoto." The story is set 35 years after the Battle of Sekigahara, and as monsters known as "Gunkyo" attack people, Kimura plays the role of O-Rin, a former ninja who confronts the monsters. Tanaka plays the role of Shiro, a mysterious man who has become a Gunkyo while still maintaining his human consciousness.
The cast of 12 people announced this time is as follows: Nishimura Takuya will play Hiderou, a loyal subordinate of the master swordsman Jubei (Koji Yamamoto), one of the group of villain exterminators; Kurosaki Reina will play Aoba, a former comrade who knows about Orin's past as a ninja; Yamashita Yorie will play Kasuga no Tsubone, the wet nurse of the third shogun, Tokugawa Iemitsu; and Yajima Kenichi will play Yagyu Munenori, a vassal who has served the Tokugawa family since the time of Ieyasu.
Furthermore, Mitsuomi Takahashi will play Hyodo, the swordsmanship instructor at the dojo frequented by Toki (Sora Tamaki), Orin's unrelated sister, Kazuhiko Kanayama will play Hitoshi, a doctor who has known Orin and Toki for a long time, Gensaburo (Katsumi Takahashi), a doctor who lived with them, and Tan Nagai will play Yae, a prostitute at the red-light district where the gangsters occurred. Moeka Hoshi will play Sakura, a woman with whom Orin comes into contact.
Also appearing in the cast are Sato Eri as Hibari, a female prisoner in the village where Orin arrives, Muro Ryuta as Senya, a scholar who uses the female prisoners to study the evildoers for a certain purpose, Hamada Mari as Sue, an old woman from the "hidden Christian" village, and Kondo Yoshimasa as the boatman of the ship heading to a foreign land.
"The serial drama W I, KILL" will consist of 6 episodes. It will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Prime and WOWOW On Demand every Sunday at 10 pm starting May 18th.

35 years after the Battle of Sekigahara, a peaceful Japan was finally beginning to return to its former glory. But suddenly, a group of monsters called "Gunkyou" appeared, attacking and devouring people. The Shogunate secretly dispatched a punitive force to burn down the Gunkyou and the area, concealing the truth. In Tako-juku, a remote post town, unaware of the commotion, Orin, who hides her past as a ninja, lives peacefully with her non-blood-related daughter Toki as an assistant to the doctor Gensaburo.
One day, Orin visits a distant village with Gensaburo to get medicine for the sick Toki. However, blood and human flesh are scattered everywhere in the village, and Orin is attacked by horribly disfigured villains. So begins Orin's epic journey to protect Toki. Meanwhile, Shiro, a "half-villain" who has become a villain while still retaining his human consciousness, is suffering without a past.
