An event for the official spin-off anime "Rascal the Raccoon" from the 1977 classic anime "Rascal the Raccoon" was held on March 23rd at the world's largest anime event "AnimeJapan 2025" at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo), where Kensho Ono, who plays Subculture, Junya Enoki, who plays Akakar, Taku Yashiro, who plays Logical, and Yohei Azakami, who plays Comical, appeared. They showed off their jerseys in different colors.
Ono, who appeared wearing a jersey with the name of the work designed on the back, said, "This is our formal attire, the Karukaru Gang," and continued, "As you may have guessed, this is a super low-budget production." Referring to the fact that some of the letters on the back of the jersey were missing, he said, "I'm praying for the success of the anime so that we can make a good jersey," making the audience laugh.
The event also featured a talk segment in which the cast members pointed out each other's "weird" points, and a video letter from Kenjiro Tsuda, who plays the Middle role, was also shown.
"Rascal the Raccoon" was produced as a 50th anniversary project for Nippon Animation, the company behind "Rascal the Raccoon". It depicts the members of the Tama branch of the secret society, the Karukaru Group, who aim to conquer the world, working hard on their mission. The anime will be broadcast on Yomiuri TV every Thursday at 12:54 a.m. from April 3rd, and on BS Nippon TV every Saturday at 11:28 p.m. from April 5th.
