The 10th episode of the TBS drama series "Jigoku no Hate Made Tsureteiku" (Tuesdays at 11:56 p.m., except in some regions), starring the talent Nozomi Sasaki, was broadcast on March 18th. In the episode, a hidden side of Reina (Nagisa Shibuya), who disappeared in front of Sachiko (Sasaki) and her friends, was revealed at the end, causing a stir on social media.
◇The following contains spoilers.
In episode 10, Sachiko is shocked to learn that Reina's first murder was of Makoto's (Inoue Yuki) mother. Afterwards, Yuuki (Yoshizawa Shizuya) takes Makoto out to talk to him, and he disappears for the last time. Makoto answers a phone call from Sachiko and says, "I'm going to see Reina," before hanging up. Makoto heads to the park where he first met Reina as a child.
One day, as a boy, Makoto meets a girl named Reina in the park, who openly talks about her own violent ways. Reina talks nonchalantly about killing insects and pigeons, but Makoto, who knows the existence of cruel adults, readily accepts her and the two begin playing together. One day, as Reina and Makoto are playing in the park, Makoto's mother passes by. When Reina finds out how her mother has been abusing Makoto, she kills her while Makoto is out. When Makoto meets Reina in the park, he tells her, "Mom, I went to hell."
After telling Sachiko about his past with Reina, Makoto later reveals to her the existence of Reina's secret account, named after the anniversary of her mother's death. The account was like a diary in which Reina let out her weak self and the part of herself she wanted to hide after committing her first murder, revealing her human side. Meanwhile, Makoto receives an email from Reina with a photo on his smartphone. The photo shows the piano in the music room where Sachiko was stabbed by Reina 14 years ago... and so the story unfolds.
In the story, Sachiko and Makoto then head to the music room in the photo. Meanwhile, Reina is in the music room, irritated by Kokoro (Shibata Haruno), who won't stop crying, and tries to push her outside. Reina picks Kokoro up and starts to say, "This is the end of our bad relationship. It's not like you wanted to be born either..." but then she remembers the words she used as a child: "You're the one who gave birth to me without my consent!" and "Who's the monster here?" Reina decides not to push Kokoro down, and continues to hold her with a conflicted look on her face.
On social media, many were surprised to see a side of Reina that they had never seen before. Comments such as "It's the first time I've seen Reina with this expression," "I was surprised to see Reina in pain," "I wonder if Reina is also struggling," "I was moved by her human-like expression of struggle," and "It touched my heart" were posted.
