It has been announced that actor Hayato Sano will appear in the NHK drama series "Hitori de Shinitai" (General TV), starring Haruka Ayase, which will begin on June 21st. He will play Nasuda Yuya, a colleague of the main character, Narumi Yamaguchi (Ayase), who is a "complicated boy" who has feelings for Narumi.
The drama is based on the manga of the same name by Kaoru Curryzawa, which has been praised as a "laughable gag manga about end-of-life planning." Unmarried and childless, Narumi Yamaguchi was enjoying her life alone. However, after her beloved aunt dies alone, Narumi's search for a husband is unsuccessful. She then makes a complete 180-degree turn from her search for a husband and starts thinking about end-of-life planning.
Sano plays Nasuda Yuya, a colleague of Narumi and an elite seconded from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. When Narumi suddenly starts looking for a husband out of fear of dying alone, he urges her by saying, "Even if you sign up for a free dating app when you're almost 40, won't you find no men?" However, he is actually a "complicated man" who has feelings for Narumi. For some reason, he knows a lot about end-of-life planning and dying alone, which is influenced by his upbringing.
Sano commented, "I learned a lot from reading the original work. The subject matter is a little serious, but it's also comical and makes you chuckle. I hope that it will inspire viewers to face themselves and live a life that they can look back on as a good one. Please look forward to the broadcast!"
The drama will consist of six episodes and will be broadcast every Saturday at 10pm starting from June 21st.
