The 112th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Omusubi " starring Kanna Hashimoto (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 am and others) was broadcast on March 11th. In the episode, a scene was depicted in which Yui (Hashimoto) and others had a remote call with their far-away family through a computer screen, which attracted the attention of viewers.
In the 112th episode, due to the spread of the coronavirus, dietitians Yui and her colleagues are required to reduce contact with patients in the general ward, and dietary advice is limited to once a week. Yui used to visit the patients every day to check on their condition, so after returning home, she confides her distress to Masato (Kitamura Yukiya) and Shoya ( Hayato Sano).
Meanwhile, Aiko (Aso Kumiko), who has gone to Itoshima to check on Kayo (Miyazaki Yoshiko), invites him to have a remote call over the computer.
Yui, Masato, Shoya, and Hana (Risa Miyazaki) lined up in front of the computer and exchanged words with Kayo and Aiko on the other side of the screen. Kayo looked cheerful, saying, "Thanks to Aiko, every day is fun," and called out to Yui, "You have to get good nutrition and take care of your body."
Masato began by saying "thank you" to Aiko, and continued, "I really should be the one to go there, but you're taking care of my mother so much. It seems like there will be many more anxious days, but there is no night that doesn't end."
However, the connection was unstable, and the video of Kayo and Aiko froze. After a while, Aiko asked, "Oh, sorry, sorry. What was it?" Masato began, "Well, let me start again... Aiko, we've overcome many difficulties together, but there's no rain that never stops..." but the screen froze again.
Aiko said, "Sorry, sorry, the connection is unstable. For now, I'm fine, so don't worry! I'll contact you again," and ended the call. Masato was frustrated, saying, "It's frustrating to talk through a screen."
On social media, people have responded to the sight of the saint struggling with the remote call with comments such as, "It's heartwarming," "It's still sad that the saint can't get his words of gratitude across because he freezes...even though he said some really nice things," "It was funny how the screen froze so many times at crucial moments," and "It's a really detailed drama that even shows the remote call freezing."
