Additional cast members have been announced for the TV anime "SAKAMOTO DAYS," based on the popular manga by Yuto Suzuki, which is currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), and it has been revealed that Masaaki Mizunaka will be appearing. Mizunaka will play Wu Tang, an exceptional consigliere who calls Lu "Ojou" and has risen to the top of the ranks of the militant Lu family with his outstanding intelligence.
Mizunaka commented, "He's a mafia consigliere who is good-looking, smart and competent (and he actually is), but when it comes to the young lady, he instantly transforms into a creepy character? An interesting man (laughs). That duality was very rewarding for me, so I played the role while keeping in mind the contrast that makes him uniquely Wu-Tang. I had a lot of fun rallying around serious and comedic scenes with Sakamoto and the others! I look forward to seeing how Wu-Tang will be involved in the story and what role he will play!"
The story is about Sakamoto Taro, a former legendary assassin who runs a shop after retiring, who fights with his friends against approaching assassins to protect the peaceful daily life he lives with his beloved family. This much-talked-about Weekly Shonen Jump series is popular for its spectacular battle scenes featuring unique characters, and is also notable for its appearance by a star-studded cast of voice actors, including Nobunaga Shimazaki as Asakura Shin, a psychic who can read other people's minds and a subordinate of Sakamoto's from his days as an assassin, and Ayane Sakura, a former mafia member who now works at Sakamoto Shoten. It airs every Saturday at 11pm on TV Tokyo and other networks.
