The ultra teaser visual for the second season of the TV anime "Skip and Loafer," based on the manga by Misaki Takamatsu currently being serialized in "Monthly Afternoon" (Kodansha), was released on March 3rd. The visual features the main characters Mitsumi Iwakura and Sosuke Shima, among others. The new visual was released to commemorate Mitsumi's birthday on March 3rd.
The main staff for the second season was also announced, with Kotomi Deai serving as director, as in the first season. Deai and Yoko Yonayama will be in charge of series composition. Following the first season, PAWORKS will be producing the series.
Director Deai commented, "Congratulations on the second season! It's all thanks to everyone who continued to support us during and after the broadcast, and to the enthusiasm of everyone who worked hard to make it a reality. That scene and that line will be in the anime too...! I look forward to witnessing together with everyone the new emotions and worries that Mitsumi and her friends will uncover as they take the series one step further!"
Yoneyama said, "Welcome back! Skip and Loafer! Season 2!!! A lot has happened since the anime ended its broadcast. There were times when I felt overwhelmed by my own powerlessness. But when I opened the book, Mitsumi and the others were there. Laughing, worrying, facing things head-on and trying their best to find the words to express their feelings. In the first season, Mitsumi and the others spent from spring to autumn, and their feelings and relationships became stronger and more complex. In the second season, I look forward to accompanying Mitsumi and the others, moving their hearts in many ways. Please look forward to it!"
The series depicts the high school life of Mitsumi Iwakura, a "country prodigy" who graduated from a small junior high school in the countryside and entered a high-ranking high school in Tokyo with top grades. The first season of the TV anime was broadcast on TOKYO MX and other stations from April to June 2023. The first season has been rebroadcast on NHK Educational TV every Sunday at 5:00 pm since January this year.
