It has been revealed that model and actress Nashiko Momotsuki will be appearing in the period action drama "SHOGUN'S NINJA" (directed by Koichi Sakamoto), marking her first attempt at a period drama.
This work is a ninja vs samurai action period drama set in Edo. The film is directed by Sakamoto, a leading figure in special effects action who has directed Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, etc., and aims to be a work that targets the world. Momotsuki will play O-ran, the "best girl in town."
Momotsuki commented, "Director Sakamoto, who is the director this time, has helped me out with 'Kiramager vs. Ryusoulger' and the Yodonna spin-off work, so thanks to that connection I had the opportunity to learn action directly from him. Doing action under Director Sakamoto's guidance is really fun, and I had been hoping to work with him again someday, so I remember being very happy when I heard about this project."
Looking back on the filming, she said, "In those days, posture and behavior differed depending on one's social status, so even just walking taught me a lot. It was also my first time acting in a kimono, and there was a scene where I had to sprint while wearing the kimono and geta sandals. It was harder to run than I thought it would be, so I got carried away and took a big fall during the actual filming. Luckily, I managed to avoid getting my costume dirty, but instead I scraped both my knees pretty badly...I'm sorry for causing everyone so much trouble and worry. I've learned firsthand how difficult it is to move around in a kimono, so I won't fall again (laughs)."
It will be broadcast on Kansai TV from 12:25 a.m. on March 20. After the broadcast, it will be streamed on "Jidaigeki Senmon Channel NET" (in Japan), the YouTube channel "SAMURAI VS NINJA" (overseas), and others from 1:55 a.m. on the same day.
