◇The following contains spoilers.
On February 23rd, "Mount Fuji Day," Kiyomi was working at the hotel's front desk while chatting with her colleague Eri (Sakai Maki). "The people who come to stay at our hotel are the ones who couldn't get a reservation elsewhere," Kiyomi and Eri said in a servile way. When Murakami, a long-term guest, told them the unexpected reason he was staying at the hotel, they felt happy. Meanwhile, Kishimoto (Ikematsu Sosuke) and Matsuzaki (Maeda Oshiro), the directors of "Monday Late Show," came to town again... and so the story unfolded.
Towards the end of the film, before going to work, Kiyomi meets Murakami, who is taking photos in front of the hotel. Murakami reveals that he plans to leave the hotel soon, saying, "I have to go back soon." When Kiyomi replies, "That's kind of lonely," Murakami responds, "The hotel will be gone soon, won't it?" When Kiyomi asks him again, Murakami asks her to pretend she didn't hear him. However, when Kiyomi wants to hear more, Murakami suggests they talk somewhere else during their lunch break.
During their lunch break, the two of them sat on a bench overlooking Mt. Fuji, and Murakami began, "I'm going to tell you a story that might seem a little hard to believe, but can you listen to it until the end?" He continued, "The reason why I knew the hotel would be gone is... I'm actually from the future."
On social media, many were shocked by Murakami's true identity. Comments like "This guy's from the future!", "What an unexpected turn of events!", "I thought he was an alien, but he's actually from the future", "What kind of town is this with aliens and people from the future?", "The sudden turn of events is getting interesting!", "The sci-fi is jammed lol", and "What is this crazy, unexpected turn of events" were all lined up, creating a buzz.
