The eighth episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sundays at 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama , entitled "Dr. Kanekane's Counterattack", was broadcast on February 23rd, and the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 9.8% for households and 5.9% for individuals.
" UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama, depicting the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have built the foundations of Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, known for "Drama 10 'Ooku'" which was broadcast on NHK two years ago and became a big hit.
In the eighth episode, Tsutaju (Yokohama)'s Yoshiwara Hosomi "Magaki no Hana" becomes popular after Segawa (Fuka Koshiba)'s name is featured, and customers flock to Yoshiwara to see Segawa. Segawa is unable to handle the customers, and the other prostitutes end up dealing with them, much to Tsutaju's joy and sorrow. Meanwhile, a blind millionaire named Toriyama Kengyo (Ichihara Hayato) appears as Segawa's new customer...
Ichihara, who plays the role of the Kengyo, will be appearing in a taiga drama for the third time, following "Naotora: The Lady Warlord" (2017) in which he played Ketsuzan, and "The 13 Lords of the Shogun" (2022) in which he played Hatta Tomoie.
On social media, there was a lot of excitement, with comments such as "Sexy Hatta is here!", "Ichihara-san is super sexy again," "She was super sexy," and "Hurry up and take it off!"
