The sixth episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sundays at 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama , entitled "The Scales of the 'Setsuboshu' Have Become Peel Back", was broadcast on February 9th, and the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 10.2% for households and 5.9% for individuals.
" UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama, depicting the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have built the foundations of Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, known for "Drama 10 'Ooku'" which was broadcast on NHK two years ago and became a big hit.
In the sixth episode, Tsutaju (Yokohama) and Magobei Urokogataya (Kataoka Ainosuke) come up with ideas and work hard to gather material to create a blue book with illustrations in addition to the Yoshiwara Hosomi. Meanwhile, when Suharaya (Kotaro Satomi) tells Tsutaju that counterfeit copies of the "Setsyoshu" are circulating, he begins to have doubts.
At the end of the film, Heizo Hasegawa (Nakamura Hayato) appears at Urokogataya and finds evidence that they were printing a counterfeit version of "Setsuyoshu" and succeeds in arresting Magobei and the others. Furthermore, he saves Tsutae, who was about to get caught up in the crime, as "a member of the Yoshiwara teahouse."
As a result, Magobei misunderstands that Tsutajyo has "told him," but Tsutajyo himself honestly reveals that he knew in front of Heizō that Urokogataya was in danger but did not warn him, and confesses that somewhere in his heart he had hoped that he would be able to take Magobei's place once he was gone.
"Easy money," Tsutaju mutters, "it's a gift from heaven," and says that the good things he's done are what make him feel bad. As he harbors this bitter gratitude, Heizō says, "Don't worry about it. That's the way the world is," and offers him the millet rice cake. He then says, "Easy money from heaven. I've combined 'easy money' and 'it's a gift from heaven.' It means that you've been blessed with an incredibly good deal. It's perfect for you."
Heizō then demanded a thank you from Tsutae, and said something pretentious like, "You should be grateful for it. It's a token of gratitude for the person who dropped the millet rice cake," then made a gesture as if trying to suppress a laugh and left the place.
